I had Captain Bill Miller and camera man Wes from the tv show Hooked on Fishing on my boat and we made a great show. The show is on BrightHouse, channel 47 and will be airing on 4/25/10 at 7:30pm and reairing on Wednesday and/or Thursday.
This was a special Tampa Fishing Charter, for many reasons but the main reason is it was for the TAMCO Foundation which is for wounded war veterans. I had Navy Seabee Peter Reid, Tito also in Navy and Peter’s wife Michele on the boat. Peter was wounded in Iraq on May 2004, he was hit by motars which left him with a severe brain injury and paralysis to the left side of his body.
The first fishing spot we went to was a spot where me and a couple of other Tampa Fishing Guides have been catching mackeral and trout at. It didn’t take long and the bite was on. Everyone was catching mackeral, bluefish, trout and ladyfish. Peter really put on a show, catching by far the most and biggest. Peter’s arm started getting tired from catching fish so I decided to head to the flats and look for some snook. The snook were there, so I started chumming them up with live greenbacks and the snook started crashing on bait everywhere. Peter then hooked up to a nice snook and the fight was on. The snook wrapped his line around the mangrove limbs, so I pulled anchor and went after him, once I grabbed the snook Peter was very excited. We took many pictures, Peter said he was tired so we callled it a day. This was one of my best Tampa Fishing Charters ever, just because I made Peter’s day.
