Laura Francese Biggest Snook

I had the privilege of taking Laura Francese, a Buffalo Bills Cheerleader and her husband Chris on a halfday Tampa Fishing Charter. We met at E.G. Simmons Park in Ruskin at 10am. I knew that meant we would be fishing during the hottest part of the day, but the incoming tide was very strong during this time. Lately, the hard incoming tide has been a key factor in catching snook on the south shore of Tampa Bay.
Once we was anchored, I threw about a dozen greenbacks(baitfish) into the water, and the snook started exploding on them instantly. After about 5 minutes of no bites, I put a cork on Chris’s line and after that he was hooked up to snook the rest of the day. Laura didn’t want to use a cork, I told her she would probably catch bigger fish without the cork. Chris was catching 2 or 3 to Laura’s 1 when Laura hooked up to the biggest one of the day. The snook headed straight for the mangroves and Laura did exactly what I had instructed her to do and she was able to get her biggest snook ever, out of the mangroves and into the boat.
